Historical Background:

In 1990 in a small garage room at Naktala, Kolkata, the idea called ETR took its birth. By effort of a well wisher, with a few handicapped members and a little group of dedicated visionaries (both handicapped and non-handicapped) in its executive board it began its journey. The goal was Educating, Training, and Rehabilitating the Disabled and underprivileged class of communities with People's Participation Process. Today by hard work, sincerity and people's participation ETR have traveled a long way. It now could extend its help from modern metropolis like Kolkata to remote backward villages of Mograhat and Mathurapur block of South 24Parganas, West Bengal.

It has achieved both recognition and appreciation from Govt. of West Bengal as well as from Govt. of India. As a result of this ETR has been invited in various Govt. seminars and decision-making committees.
At south fringe of city of Kolkata, ETR has its head office building, donated by a benevolent industrialist.
