ETR is totally committed to the development and welfare of disabled especially, the rural youth, who are considered as a social liability. Beside this, we also give thrust on working for economic rehabilitation and general upliftment of women living in backward situation, and other targeted groups, living below the poverty line, with the sole aim to help them so that they become economically self-reliant.
To achieve the goal we give emphasis on basic education and vocational training for the targeted people through several programs.
Our activities flow along the following heads:

1. To expand our vocational training cum rehabilitation for the disabled at different locations of Kolkata and our other rural centers.

2. To establish a computer training center to increase awareness about information technology among the disabled persons.

3. To build and operate residential school for the disabled at Mathurapur in a suitable environment on our own land.

4. To obtain a mobile clinical van with medical equipment to treat rural poor people at their residence.

5. To run a day care center and old age home for the most disadvantageous people of our community.

6. To take up the programmes for solution for water and sanitation problems for people living below the poverty line in the remotest villages of South 24 Parganas, West Bengal as a part of our community development programmes.

7. Partnerships with other NGOs sharing our general goals, to mutually strengthen knowledge of capacity building, and to co-operate occasionally in joint projects.

8. To implement HIV programmes in a large scale for awareness, sensitization, prevention etc. covering entire District of South 24 Parganas of West Bengal, especially in the Red light areas of the mentioned district.

9. To take up a broad based Nutrition cum Health care for mother and child to minimize the recurrence of starvation and mal nutrition led diseases at our stated operational areas.
